The Acorn E-news: November 2024
Check out the November 2024 Edition of The Acorn e-newsletter for volunteer opportunities, upcoming events and updates from NICHES.
We’re thrilled to announce the winners of NICHES' 5th Annual Jack-o-Lantern Fundraiser Hike at Clegg Memorial Garden! Over three amazing nights, more than 900 registered hikers hit the trails, casting their votes for their favorite jack-o-lanterns from a stunning lineup of 296 entries.
Thanks to the creativity, time, and generosity of this year’s volunteers, carvers, and attendees, we raised over $4,000 to support the conservation and protection of our local natural areas. We couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you for making this event a magical success.
This years winning pumpkin, "Great Horned Owl", was carved by NICHES friend and volunteer, Rebecca Weis, who some may recognize as the winning carver of our first ever Jack-o-Lantern Fundraiser Hike!
In addition to our carvers and event attendees, we would like to recognize the NICHES Staff and volunteers who helped with everything from directing parking to relighting pumpkins during the event. Huge thanks to Ben Nyquist, Jordan Young, Dan Malsom, Ann Fields Monical, Becki Reibman, Shannon Stanis, Marian Rodriguez-Soto, and Dave & Karen Cody.
If you couldn't make it to this years hike but would still like to support our local conservation work, please consider becoming a NICHES member today! 🍂
