This Fall 2025 Edition of The Sprout shares the history of our administrative headquarters, Clegg Memorial Garden, as part of our continued celebration of NICHES’ 30th anniversary. We celebrate Roy Coolman’s recent donation of 10 additional acres at Swanson’s Bluff, which expands our holdings in the Big Pine Creek Valley to 442 acres. NICHES Stewardship Director, Bob Easter, shares that careful timber management at Shawnee Bottoms and Potawatomi Trail in 2024 - 2025 increased the amount of sunlight in the understory, encouraging native plant growth and supporting wildlife. We celebrate the opening of our new Stewardship Facility in Warren County, which provides a dedicated space for habitat stewardship, equipment storage / maintenance, events, and more!

By supporting NICHES you protect the land, water, and wildlife of west-central Indiana, and secure public access to the most unique and precious natural areas in our region.
