The past, present, and future of NICHES properties play a vital role in this issue of The Sprout. NICHES shares a riveting narrative about the acquisition of 14-acre Black Magic Forest, followed by an article by Bob Easter announcing the acquisition of 200-acre Laura Hare Bend of the Wabash East and his plans for the restoration of native grasslands there. NICHES also shares an extensive history of the organization’s ecological and community presence in Big Pine Valley, detailing the acquisition of Fall Creek Gorge and other surrounding properties and connecting that history to our current efforts in the restoration.
