Celebrating Community
Stewardship Manager Justin Harmeson recently highlighted the role community plays within the organization in a personal post:
Birthdays bring together family, friends, and community. For NICHES Land Trust’s birthday month, I want to celebrate the role community plays within the organization. NICHES’s mission of protecting, restoring, and sustaining west central Indiana ecosystems has brought people from varied backgrounds and viewpoints to work towards a common goal.
Over my career with NICHES, I’ve had incredible conversations with volunteers during workdays, random passerbys that ask about our work, politicians that influence broad policy, trained experts in the conservation field, and a plethora of other folks. All of these conversations stem from people’s connection with the natural world and how NICHES provides that bridge to many. The work we do wouldn’t be possible without the community that has formed around NICHES’s mission.
Please help us in celebrating our birthday by making a gift today! We have set a goal of raising $10,000 to support NICHES' future during our annual birthday fundraiser. Thanks to several generous donors, gifts towards our goal will be matched! We invite you to help us celebrate by donating and posting your own videos, memories, and photos of NICHES using #nicheslife.
