Sand Ridge Cemetery Spring Cleaning

Calendar
Stewardship Work Day
Date
May 13, 2021 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Description

NICHES Land Trust has a management agreement with Wabash Township to help maintain the cemetery. On the workday, NICHES will be conducting a spring cleaning of the cemetery, removing old tattered artificial flowers, burning an old brush pile (weather dependent), and trimming around headstones in the area of the cemetery that will be mowed.

NICHES is active on the site, as the cemetery is the largest known population of Hill’s thistle, a state endangered species, and has been proposed for federal listing. In addition to the thistle, there are over 50 native species present on site.
