Black Rock Society NICHES Farris Estate Tour

Touring the new 400 acres Farris North Farm Preserve in White County
On this property tour, we will have the day to explore NICHES’s second largest preserve – the Farris North Farm Preserve that was recently donated to us. The preserve features remnant prairie, wet woods, and dry woods. Over the last year, NICHES coordinated the removal of 160 acres of invasive shrubs and miles of interior fencing, treated other invasive species, implemented a prescribed fire, inventoried plants, and planned a detailed restoration. We will tour the work completed and envision the final restoration. A box lunch will be provided.
*A van will be provided to carpool from Clegg Memorial Gardens to the Farris property (Departing around 10:00 am), but bus space is limited to 12 attendees. Parking is limited so carpooling is encouraged. RSVP Required – please let us know if you plan to ride on the NICHES van.
